ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
Courts and the Department of Justice treat WCAG as the practical benchmark for accessible websites and apps. The 2024 DOJ rule under Title II sets WCAG 2.1 Level AA for state and local government digital services, with compliance dates in 2026 and 2027 by entity size.
Section 508
Federal agencies and their suppliers must meet Section 508, which incorporates WCAG 2.0 Level AA through the Revised 508 Standards. We produce the conformance evidence and VPATs that federal procurement expects.

Which accessibility laws and standards apply in the United States?
US digital accessibility is governed mainly by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and, for federal agencies and their suppliers, Section 508, which references WCAG. The Department of Justice ADA Title II rule sets WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local government, and WCAG 2.2 AA is the current best-practice target. Documents are assessed against PDF/UA (ISO 14289).
